The Embassy of Afghanistan in Ottawa has released the following statement on the Remembrance Day.

On behalf of the Government and People of Afghanistan it is an honour to participate at the Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa and pay respect to all Canadian Veterans who served and lost their lives for the freedom and security in the world. The People and Government of Afghanistan always remember and appreciate Canadian Sacrifices and their participation to fight terrorism in the past 12 years and bringing peace and stability to the country.
H.E. Sham L. Bathija, Ambassador of Afghanistan to Canada expressed his gratitude and while participating in the ceremony on November 11th at the National Canadian War Memorial at Confederation Square on Parliament Hill he said: “Canadian contribution, sacrifices and their role for maintaining peace and security in the world is significantly valuable. The people and the Government of Afghanistan hold in highest regards the Canadian service members who have lost their lives and participated for the maintenance of peace and security in their country and very much like to express their sincere appreciation to the families of the fallen soldiers on this solemn occasion. The People of Afghanistan will never forget your kind cooperation and assistance.”
