Afghan Charge d’Affaires met with Ambassador of Qatar
Ottawa, October 21, 2016- Mr. Mohammad Dawood Qayomi, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with His Excellency Mr. Fahad Mohammed Yousif Kafood, Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Canada to discuss Afghan peace process and the constructive support of the State of Qatar for the ongoing efforts.
Mr. Qayomi elaborated that Afghan National Unity Government has been pursuing different approach toward the region to expand regional cooperation, and strengthen the peace and prosperity of Muslim countries. Indeed, Afghan government sincerely beliefs that the Afghan peace process could succeed with strong support of the countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates.
Charge d’Affaires Qayomi added; the state visit of Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, to Saudi Arabia demonstrated our firm believes in effective role of gulf countries especially Saudi Arabia to use their influence toward the Peace process of Afghanistan.
At the meeting, both side was agree that regional actors, like Saudi Kingdom, are able to foster the condition for successful Afghan lead peace process against the wish of those who wants to undermine the process and discourage Afghan's hope for peaceful country in the near future .
