H.E Salahuddin Rabbani, Afghanistan New Minster of Foreign Affairs took office
Kabul, Febuary 2, 2015:
H.E Salahuddin Rabbani has been introduced as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in an official ceremony held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was introduced by H.E Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of Afghanistan National Unity Government at the ceremony.
Dr. Abdullah thanked Mr. Rabbani for his service and longstanding efforts to advance the peace process in the country during his posting as the Head of High Peace Council of Afghanistan. Dr. Abdullah praised Mr. Rabani and mentioned that "Under the leadership of Mr. Rabbani, we want to build cooperation with our neighboring countries,".
H.E Rabbani himself thanked the Members of Parliaments for their vote of confidence and talked about his plans as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.
He indicated that Afghanistan foreign ministry will draft a five years strategic foreign policy plan to strengthen Afghanistan's relation with outside world, the importance of regional cooperation in bring peace and stability to the country and bringing together the region to fight the notion of Terrorism and eradicate narcotics from this region. Without consensus of regional players, it would be hard to bring peace in Afghanistan and the region.
