October 24, 2014
On Thursday October 23, 2014, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan conveyed a message of sympathy and condolences to the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, on the wake of attacks on Canadian Parliament, and Quebec terrorist attack, as following:
“On behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan, I convey our deepest condolences to the people and Government of Canada over these tragedies. We wish for the swift recovery of the others injured in these attacks, and our thoughts are with the bereaved families of the victims. Afghanistan stands by Canada in strong solidarity and support at this difficult time. As a nation that continues to suffer from the menace of terrorism, we recognize clearly the grief caused by such outrageous and incomprehensible acts.
“Canada remains a key partner to Afghanistan, providing invaluable assistance for our effort to secure a peace, security, stability and prosperity – for which we are grateful. We look forward to deepening our partnership in the way forward, and to achieve our shared and common goals.”
