Embassy Charge d’Affaires Mr. Qayomi and Ambassador of the European Union to Canada H.E. Marie-Anne Coninsx met with Assistant Deputy Minister Gregson,

On June 27, 2016, Mr. Dawood Qayomi Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy along with the European Union Ambassador to Canada H.E. Marie-Anne Coninsx met with Assistant Deputy Minister for Asia Pacific of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Susan Gregson.

During the meeting Mr. Qayomi and Ambassador Coninsx presented the Invitation from Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Finance of Afghanistan along with Vice President and head of International Cooperation and Development of the European Union, to Hon. Stephane Dion Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, for the upcoming Brussel Conference on Afghanistan in October this year.

Mr. Qayomi talked about the importance of this conference for Afghanistan and told that the National Unity Government is willing to work with International Community and Afghanistan partners for improving the current affairs of the country.

Also Ambassador Coninsx mentioned the Importance of this conference for Afghanistan and talked about the European Union commitment and support to the Government and People of Afghanistan for the coming years. She told the Assistan Deputy Minister that The European Union is looking forward toward International Community and specifically Canada to be with Afghanistan and support the national Unity Government.

Assistant Deputy Minister Gregson, said that Canada is committed to support Afghanistan and the current Liberal Government is going to send a high level delegation to Brussel Conference on Afghanistan. She mentioned that Afghanistan is still in the list of important countries for Canada and Canadian Government will continue supporting Afghanistan.
